The History of Charleston, SC
Charleston, SC is one of the earliest cities in which African presence in North America began. Although the tortured circumstances of human bondage and enslavement will never be erased, more attention is now focused on the black excellence throughout the city. African Americans played an essential role in creating colonial wealth for the city of Charleston. While being the foundation of working class African Americans of Charleston also advocated for universal freedom and rights in their spare time.

Throughout the city of Charleston,SC you will see the plantations tours, oral history, archived collections, museum exhibits, statues and historical markers. The charming town is known for many things, however Charleston is known most for being the birthplace of sweet tea. The town is home to “Mason” the World’s Largest Sweet Tea, which stands 15 ft tall and can hold up to 2,524 gallons.
